Spring arrives a little later in Gansu, but progress at the factory site has not been delayed.
A self-insulating block production line undertaken by Qingzhou Shuangfengda Mechanical Engineering Co., Ltd. has recently completed construction in Gansu. The equipment has been installed and commissioned, and is now ready for production. This marks a new endeavor for Shuangfengda in the field of new-type wall materials.
Self-insulating blocks are a new category of wall material that combines structural load-bearing capacity with thermal insulation. In recent years, they have gradually gained popularity in Northwest China. Compared with traditional blocks that require an additional layer of insulation, self-insulating blocks simplify the construction process and eliminate the risk of insulation detachment. However, producing and packaging them properly places different demands on equipment.
This production line covers multiple stages, including molding, curing, stacking, and strapping. Shuangfengda was responsible for the latter stages—stacking and strapping. After the blocks exit the curing kiln, a stacking machine automatically picks them up and arranges them into stacks, which are then transferred to the strapping station where high-strength PET straps are applied. The entire process requires no manual intervention and eliminates the need for wooden pallets.
During equipment commissioning, the client’s technical supervisor was present on-site. His focus was on two points: ensuring that the blocks were not damaged during stacking, and verifying that the finished stacks remained stable after strapping. The first point affects product appearance, while the second relates to transportation safety. Shuangfengda’s technicians made repeated adjustments to the gripping force and strapping tension until they found a balance that satisfied both concerns.
The client noted that self-insulating blocks are a key product focus for them this year, and stable operation of the packaging process is essential. Once this line goes into operation, production efficiency will improve, and they will have greater confidence when shipping products to surrounding project sites.
On the final day of construction, other contractor teams were still working at the site. Shuangfengda’s crew packed up their tools, cleaned the area, and conducted a final equipment handover with the client. The client’s production manager signed off on the handover documents, remarking, “Once the weather warms up, we’ll be ready to start full operation.”
